BA has grown steadily to become a major manufacturer of kitchen and bedroom doors in the UK and Irish furniture components industry. For over 15 years we worked together with the team at BA to help grow their brand. Including developing their website and Social Media channels.
In 2019 we were tasked to produce a new website which would reflect the rapid growth of the company into several different markets.
The main challenge of the redesign was to create multiple microsites which catered for BA’s customer types which included retailers, consumers housing contractors and larger multi-national kitchen and bedroom suppliers.
It was also decided that this was the time to create a new BA customer brand which would be called Blossom Avenue.
The discovery and sitemap stage of the project was key to success. We spent considerable time carrying out research to determine how to structure the new website for the various customer groups.
We settled on a landing page solution, which would be the first thing to great the user on visiting the BA homepage. Here there were four clear options with a link to a microsite designed specifically for each customer.
The microsites which included: Blossom Avenue, retail, OEM and new build all contained key information with clear calls to action.
The visual design was kept consistent throughout the microsites. A global navigation at the top of each page would allow users to navigate between Microsites if necessary.
Throughout our time working with BA the primary customer had always been the trusted independent kitchen and bedroom retailer. The retailer would provide all the information for potential BA customers within their showrooms.
The decision was taking with this redesign to create a new consumer brand called Blossom Avenue.
Blossom Avenue would cater for the end user, anyone who wants a beautiful new kitchen or bedroom could now go to the BA website and browse the massive range of contemporary, traditional and modern kitchens and bedrooms available from Blossom Avenue.
The look and feel of the Blossom Avenue site had to reflect both the BA and Blossom Avenue brands. We achieved this by making the most of the stunning product imagery on product pages. In addition we would provide clear calls to action which would allow the user to easily find their local BA retailer or download a brochure directly from the Blossom Avenue website.
